Finals Night USAF Boxing Championships

Lindberg had become an officer here, and so friendly intense competition continued on a night where the process of electing another president continued. The United States Air Force had the finals of their boxing championships. Traditions formal and informal went on. The presentation of the colors by the Lackland AFB honor guard a reminder of the flag the symbol of the Constitution the members of the Air Force boxing team swore to protect and defend. There was also basic trainees in attendance who relished the opportunity to consume that rare thing in basic training....junk food. It was a good night of Amateur boxing with only one Referee stops contest.

Ssgt Rosey Sommerville of Fairbanks Alaska won his lightweight bout. I did not get what he does for the USAF.

It was not easy but he did it Lt James Barber who is an Air Weapons officer on an AWACS came out the winner against local boxer Brandon Chalker in the 132lb weight class.

It was an awkward bout with SSGT Thomas Jacobs The Winner in the middleweight division
