Golden Gloves Prelim Night Tuesday 2/19/08
First an apology this is MarkII and last night was the trial of new technology. There is was a teething issue so that explains why the majority of the fights do not have photos. It will not happen again.
A couple things at the start. The rash of child murders was addressed by the heavy presence of advertisement of the parenting help line. Oscar Diaz and Raul Martinez were present. Ann Wolfe and Jessie James Leija took their places in the corners of their fighters. The night got started with the national anthem being sung by a little girl setting the appropriate tone for the event. The first bout of the night was action filled.
My notes ring side were as follows :
Thomas Loving Ann Wolfe forces standing 8 and in round 1 was aggresive. 2nd round was more even. Round three knockdown. Bout ends furious exchange edge Thomas Loving over Jousha Gomez in open welterweight division.
Fast paced bout between Brandon Chalker San Antonio parks and Fransico Andrade Angels. The bout was in the novice light weight Fransico Andrerde won it. Novice light welter.
Another spirited bout in the novice lightwelter weight div between Jospeph Palencia SA parks and Jessie Conterras East side in three agggressive flury Joseph won the fight.
Omar Carrillo from Azteca Pride V Joe Napolitano Richard Lord novice light welter. Novice bout Omar Carrilo won it.
Jairo Castaneda (San Antnio Parks)cames out fast in round one against Andrew Rodriguez agape. Continues pressure in round 2 novice light welter. Castenda won the bout.
Hedrick Simmons Agape novice welter was stung as Ben Espinosa managed to get inside during round 1.(novice welter) less so round 2 Ben won the fight.
Jose Hernandez Angels Boxing club V Mario Renterria Castillllo novice welterweight even first bombs in second see saw battle in the third. Jose Hernandez.
Jose Sosa Agape was figghting hard charging Corey Randele of Champion FIt gym tight novice middle weight bout. Corey Randle won it.
Louis Padilla SA Parks V Donald Kageein Donald was dropped in the first round by a hook. HOlding in round three did the deduction make a diff? Louis Padilla won.
Robert Daniels Tough Engough V Charles Spradley Azteca Pride Novice light heavy close first round. Third round made the differenge for Charles Spradley.
William Dunston Gary Job Corps V Isias Garcia novice heavy. Close first round. Dunston Second round. Garcia won it.

The bout was close and I can see what shots were scored that I did not. Even though I did not like the holding Carlos can claim victory. My bias did effect ring side notes.
